Amazing Band: Autolux

A good friend of mine turned me on to these guys and I just had to pass it along. They're called Autolux Autolux I've been listening to them all day at work and can't get enough! They have a great big guitar band sound and a female vocalist which adds a nice softness to the otherwise harder sound. I'm listening to the Future Perfect Future Perfect album. Check it out!

Sigur Ros Fan Concert Tonight

I'm VERY excited for tonight is a special show by Sigur Rós Sigur Ros and a very great friend got me a ticket for a birthday present. It should be a very cool show as it's not at the gigantic Hollywood Bowl where most people will see them in LA this fall. No, this is at the intimate Avalon Theater in Hollywood! They are reportedly playing material from their forthcoming album. I'll try and log a report here sometime tomorrow. (oh yeah, and I was accepted by the iTunes Affiliate Program so now I can post links like the one above for you to check out and maybe purchase songs and bands I mention.)

Joining The iTunes Affiliate Program

I've requested a membership into the iTunes Affiliate Program. If accepted, I'll be able to place links to my favorite bands, songs, or albums right here in my blog for you to check out samples and buy if you like them. Hopefully my next entry will include some links to music! Stay 'tuned'!

Celeb Sighting: Dick Van Dyke

Walking around SIGGRAPH 2005 today, I spied through the crowd a very familiar face. Love that guy! What a TV legend. I guess he was there to learn about what kinds of software and hardware we use to make TV and movies. I heard once that when Adam West was setting up his special effects company (I believe it had the creative name of Boy Wonder Productions), that he used to wander the show floor talking to the vendors.

Celeb Sightings: Many, many celebs all in one place

Went to see a movie at the best theatre complex in all of LA, the Arclight Cinemas and ALL of LA was out and about that night. Traffic was a nightmare, parking was tough, the theatre lobby was jammed, and out of the crowd walking right toward me is Henry Rollins. Downstairs in the line waiting for theatre treats was Shirley Manson of Garbage. Oh yeah, and Giovanni Ribisi again. And finally the creator of Nip/Tuck (never seen it) Ryan Murphy. I love L.A., it's so weird.
