'Da Vinci Code' Great!
I was able to see The Da Vinci Code last night at a special screening at Sony Pictures. Before I went in a few friends had told me that critics were pretty much completely panning it. I didn't care. I was gonna see my favorite book in years made into a film the first free moment I could. I must say I wasn't disappointed. I sat with mouth open through most of it tickled by the experience of see Dan Brown's words come alive in full color. Above that Ron Howard saw fit to squeeze in some nice visual touches showing historic events much like he did in A Beautiful Mind. I thought this was done very well.
I would love to hear some good reasons why (according to Rotten Tomatoes) have given it an 18% rotten rating! Meanwhile the users on that very same site see fit to rate it at 76% fresh! Once again I find myself wondering if critics really are just know-it-all frustrated filmmakers.
Go see it. It's entertaining like you can't believe.
